Life expectancy is increasing, birth rates are dropping and society is growing older on average. In 1950, the number of people less than 20 years old was about twice as high as the number of people aged 60 years or more. In 2050, this ratio will have reversed. At this point, there will be more than twice as many old people as young people. Even today, the number of seniors older than 60 is 18 million in Germany.
18 million critical consumers with purchase power who have high standards and desires, who do not want to be pushed into the “old people’s corner” by advertisements and products, but rather expect to be allowed to largely continue their consumer and living habits of their middle years.
